Kaori Fujimoto

Born in Japan, I now live in Vaughan, Central Victoria on Djaara Country.
My work is strongly influenced by the beautiful, surrounding bush and land, and also a cultural background in Japanese Shintoism, which harnesses a great respect for the nature.
My work is predominantly hand built with a minimum use of glaze.
The shapes of them are rather irregular and their unglazed surfaces will change their colours over the years, reflecting the processes of nature.
The pursuit of my work is to create something that brings you calm, similar to the emotions that can be brought on by being surrounded by nature.
